Dear <<First Name>>,

As the Raine Study has grown and evolved over the last three decades, our annual scientific meeting has also changed. You’re invited to the Raine Study Symposium, the new name for the event previously known as the Annual Scientific Meeting.

Our 2022 event will take place on Friday 2 September, 9am-3pm at the University Club of Western Australia (Perth). We’re bringing Raine Study researchers, participants and other stakeholders together symposium-style, to share research findings, discuss future research pathways and showcase the innovation and excellence of the Raine Study to all involved.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: 3 MINUTE VIDEO SUBMISSION
All researchers involved in the Raine Study are invited to submit a video abstract of their research findings to be considered for selection as a speaker at the Raine Study Symposium on 2 September.

Early career researchers and PhD students are encouraged to present on behalf of the Special Interest Groups they are affiliated with.
  • Length: Video abstracts should be no longer than 3 minutes duration, using a single background slide without animation or visual effects
  • Format: MP4, MOV or WMV file format only
  • How: Via email to rainestudyscience@uwa.edu.au
  • Deadline: 11:59pm AWST on Monday 18 July 2022
All video abstracts submitted will be reviewed by a panel which includes members of the Raine Study's core staff, the Raine Study's Scientific Review Committee and and the Raine Study's Community Advisory Committee. They will decide which researchers will be accepted to present a longer version of their research findings at the Raine Study Symposium on 2 September. All decisions are final.
PRESENTING AT THE RAINE STUDY SYMPOSIUM
Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 8 August. They will be asked to submit a written summary of their video abstract for inclusion in the event program by Friday 12 August. They will also receive instructions on how long their event presentation should be (estimated 8-10 minutes pending program finalisation).

All Perth-based presenters are expected to present in-person on 2 September. Researchers based outside of Perth will deliver their presentation via pre-recorded video.

The Raine Study team may contact researchers not selected to present at the event to discuss other ways of sharing their research findings.
RAINE MEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION PRIZES FOR BEST PRESENTATION
The Raine Medical Research Foundation have kindly donated two prizes of $750:
  • 1x for the Best Presentation by an Early Career Researcher;
  • 1x for the Best Presentation by a PhD Student.

It is a condition of presentation that all award monies must be paid into a University, Hospital, or Research Institute research account, or other appropriate account (Project/Grant account) and used to support research activities.

We look forward to seeing you at the Raine Study Symposium!

Best wishes,
